Whether you have zero to little experience or are re-learning, this is the next step in your photography journey.
Imagine a hybrid of self-learning… plus a pro photographer with 33 years of experience guiding you along the way… with virtual, live training!
That’s exactly what this Virtual Photography Workshop for Beginners is all about.
This photography workshop is THE foundation for every photo you’ll ever take for the rest of your life!
I wish I had had this when I started back in 1989. Doing so would have saved me years of headaches.
There is a small side-effect you must be aware of. And that has to due with the number one thing that holds back photographers… a lack of confidence.
Confidence IS the side-effect you’ll gain from completing this workshop.
It won’t be easy, though. You’ll have to complete everything assigned to you throughout the 4 weeks.
No worries, though...
...it'll be fun since you already have a passion for being a photographer… otherwise, you wouldn’t be here. Am I right?
three
The virtual photography workshop is divided into three main phases:
Weekly Live Events
Private, one-on-one Mentoring
Assignments + Feedback
01
Events will be between 30 minutes to an hour.
You’ll discover the three camera settings you’ll use on EVERY photo you’ll ever take for the rest of your life!
After completing this workshop, you’ll understand how to use your Aperture, Shutter Speed, and ISO like a pro.
In today’s digital world, our camera gear is much more complex than the film cameras of yesteryear. We’ll break down the differences between two types of digital cameras and two types of sensors.
DSLR vs. Mirrorless
Crop sensors vs. Full Frame
Depth-of-Field is a misunderstood concept in photography that can drastically alter how your image looks.
We’ll de-mystify what it is and break it down into a simple concept that you’ll fully understand.
As a photography beginner or when re-learning, it’s natural to gravitate to the easiest option… Auto Modes.
Although there is nothing wrong with using them, there is one you should avoid at all costs. Plus, I'll share the one that I use most often.
Back in the good ‘ole days of film, we didn’t have to worry about this camera setting. I’ll take the mystery out of what White Balance is and how to use it.
There are three core rules of photography that will ensure your images are tack sharp for every photo.
Once you discover what they are, you’ll never have a blurry photo again.
Exponentially increase your chances of getting the shot by choosing the right Shooting Mode.
One of the most asked questions I get from photographers is: “which camera should I buy.”
Although a valid question, it’s not an easy answer due to the vast assortment of digital cameras nowadays. And everyone’s needs are different.
The answer is, “buy the camera that fits within your budget.”
A better question photographers should ask is, “which lens should you buy.” Why?
Because a lens is more important than your camera!
In today’s digital world, camera sensors have advanced to the point where the quality is very similar from one to another. Although, the sensor can directly impact the quality depending on its size.
However, your lens choice can have a larger impact on the quality vs. one sensor compared to another.
You’ll discover why that is and what to look for when shopping for a new lens.
There’s another camera feature that I use on every photo that is rarely talked about. It was THE tool that I didn’t use on my first photo session back in 1989. And this led to disastrous results.
Your camera has this tool, too, and you’ll discover what it is and how to use it for your own images.
Plus, your new BFF has an assistant. The assistant will fine-tune your BFF’s output and give you the desired result.
You’ll discover three techniques to improve your photography instantly.
One of these concepts is widely used in Hollywood! Plus, I’ll share my favorite photography technique that adds that extra “wow” factor.
Discover the techniques to take back full creative control of your camera.
02
The week before the live training starts, we’ll do a Zoom meeting to get to know each other and your goals for photography + review a few of your images (see below).
Then, during week 4 (after the live event ends), we’ll do another in-person meeting to answer your questions and provide additional pro tips on your images.
All personal meetings are recorded and provided with lifetime access.

Photo assignments are designed to help reinforce what you’ve learned. It’s like “practice”… the more you do it, the easier it gets!
And chances are, you might get stuck and/or have questions along the way. By doing the assignments, I can personally address any issues you have during the program.
Keep in mind no question is too small, and I’ll be happy to assist as needed.
You’ll have lifetime access to my Photography Masterclass that covers everything in this 4 week's workshop and a whole lot more!
Learning photography can be stressful at times. It’s like learning a foreign language!
But it doesn’t have to be that hard. That’s why I’ve included lifetime access to my Photography Masterclass that covers everything in the 4-week workshop. And MUCH more!
All video tutorials are available in bit-size chunks… to help you fully understand each lesson.
Talk about childhood trauma! I never ever wanted to show-and-tell in front of the class. How ‘bout you?
Well… I believe this is the time when you’re going to soar like an eagle!
What does Show ‘n Tell involve?
This is when we’ll review one of your images live… from your Photo Assignment from the previous week.
No worries. No judging by anyone!
Weeks two through four will be show time.
Homework will be assigned as well. This will involve studying video tutorials in the photography course before the live event.
This will help you get an understanding of the core concepts we’ll cover live.
A beautifully designed e-book of everything you’ll learn is part of the workshop too!
You’ll find 209 Pages of written content to guide you while watching the video tutorials. You can download the PDF file to your smartphone and/or tablet to study while offline.

Before week 1, I’ll review your first 5 images and will provide a recording of how you can improve your images.
After week 4, you’ll submit another 5 images for another round of reviews.
You’ll receive lifetime access to the reviews.
As part of this workshop, you’ll also receive some additional resources to assist with your learning.
This will include a PDF file of 142 words you should know as a photographer and a list of blog posts for your review.
You’ll receive a special invitation to join 8,568 other photographers and me in our private Facebook Group.
You can continue sharing your photos with like-minded photographers to get continued feedback.
An excellent source for building your confidence… and then, someday giving back to the community by sharing your knowledge with others that are at the same point as you in your photography journey.
Share. Learn. Grow. That’s our motto.
This is perfect for photography beginners with zero to little experience and those that are re-learning. Also, any camera will do.
How much time will I need to set aside for this photography workshop?
I recommend setting aside a minimum of 7 hours per week. This will cover the live event, homework, + photo assignments.
However, the more time you invest the more you’ll get out of the program!
What Time Are the Live Events?
All live events will happen on Monday evenings. As for the time, we’ll try and pick one that will work for the majority of participants.
However, if you choose a private workshop, you’ll have more options for the day and time.
What If I Can’t Make It for the Live Event? If the time or day isn’t right for you, that’s o.k. The event will be recorded and available the following day. Plus, if you have any questions, you’ll be able to submit them ahead of time, and they’ll be answered accordingly.
